Thank you so much for visiting my website. My name is Aaron Brezel. I am a graduate student pursuing master’s degrees in journalism and computer science at Columbia University.
Out of the classroom I'm a public radio addict and a journalist with seven-plus years of experience writing for student and professional publications. My résumé can be found as a tab on the main navigation bar or here.
This website is a showcase of my best work, some of which has been featured in Newsday, Student Life, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and d3baseball.com.
I hail from the gorgeous suburban town of Port Washington, NY. Out of the newsroom I can usually be found biking around St. Louis, listening to podcasts or hiking in the Hudson Valley. My favorite season is winter because it's a perfect excuse to drink hot chocolate instead of coffee.
While at Wash. U., I covered, photographed and tweeted national championships, ate raw garlic in South St. Louis, talked sequin jumpsuits with an Elvis tribute artist and discussed faith and tragedy in Iraq with a decorated football coach.
At Columbia my reporting as focused on New York City Housing and I continue to explore the frontiers of data journalism.
I've enjoyed the fantastic privilege to live vicariously through much more interesting people and tell their stories.
